Dana Blickensderfer, business founder of Provoke Art, over the past summer took the jump and moved to New York to pursue her dream to create and inspire visual art. She had little knowledge of where to live; what she was going to do; or even unsure of where her art would take her. But, she followed this still small voice that said, “Just go” and thus catapulting her on an incredible, life-changing journey. For Full Artist Bio Visit: http://provoke-art.com/pages/about-us
“To say that, ‘if you make it in New York you can make it anywhere’ is completely accurate. The hustle and bustle of the city can get you caught up and you find yourself on a rollercoaster of a ride. As an artist, I use the catalyst of the city energy and personal experiences living here to penetrate my vision and goals as a New York based visual artist.”
With her transition into the city life and daily reflections of her message in the arts; She began a art and film collaboration with film maker, John Fuentes of Fuentes Film Studios. Her combination of art and film is profound, working closely with film directors; she finds this niche market and audience response captivating. Working with film directors and connecting her creative works with film allows her vision to the contribution in the arts movement to rapidly accelerate far beyond her expectations.
The Provoke Art video projects developed with film director, John Fuentes center around performance art works. She is placed painting a live exhibit in a select New York City locations. Each video location is at a well-known New York City spot… not just for its high foot traffic but each one that is selected holds a special meaning for the artist. This is the epitome of her movement - to create works that stimulate thought and emotion; provoke connection and interaction with the common denominator being art.
She is currently residing in the New York City area study painting at a leading New York Studio to further elevate her opportunity and career as a abstract artist. Her work and development rapidly progressed since her re-location and has been flourishing in the artist community.
